This is not your another typical entertainment blog. It is a statement.
It has been a long time since Mr. Noel Sales Barcelona alias Senyor Tsikador (roughly translated as Mr. Gossip) had written his final column in the defunct Punto! Newspaper in Manila. It was 2007.
His column, Direct to the Point, was a turning point in his writing career. Notwithstanding the fact that he has no in-depth knowledge about showbiz, he tried to make himself comfortable in writing “chismis.” At first, he doesn’t believe in the synthetic world of showbiz. But it was the prolific showbiz scribe Julianito “Boy” Villasanta who has given him a different view about show business and why a “serious” reporter like him, must also be writing showbiz.
It was Mr. Villasanta, whom he calls fondly as Mama Boy, had said that showbiz “is not detached from the Filipino society but in fact, a part of the entire fabric of this society.” See Mr. Villasanta’s explanation about this maxim:

Because of this, Senyor Tsikador had expanded the myopic view about the complex and carnival-like world of showbiz.
He had written for showbiz pages of that defunct newspaper for almost eight months and had began maintaining blogs, in relation with his column writing. Thus Tsismisan at Talakayan and Direct to the Point were born and have had been in the net since 2007.
Most of Senyor Tsikador’s write-ups are not actually gossips or scoops about showbiz personalities or intrigues, but social and cultural commentaries, using the latest showbiz news or gossips as starting point. Thus, show business had been reintroduced with a twist.
In addition to his every-other-day columns in Punto!, Senyor Tsikador had also maintained a column in the monthly edition of Pinoy Weekly in Tel-Aviv, Israel. There, he is writing about movies, the latest news about the local show business, and of course, social and/or cultural commentaries.
Due this, expect not only showbiz news, features and other entertainment reports but from time to time, a cultural commentary on the most pressing issues concerning showbiz.
